Information for Visitors:

Driving directions are available to the University of Minnesota's Minneapolis East-bank campus. Prof. York's office is in room 328 Smith Hall (the chemistry building) and the York Group research lab offices are located in rooms P176 and P180  Kolthoff Hall, right next door to Smith Hall.  Follow these links to several University of Minnesota campus maps, including an overview of the Minneapolis East- and West-bank campuses
Information is also available about transportation and parking.  Recommended parking garages and ramps for visits to the chemistry department include the Washington Ave. ramp, the Weisman Art Museum garage and the Church Street garage
The most convenient airport for visits to the University of Minnesota is the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP).  The East-bank Minneapolis campus is about a 20 minute drive from the airport.  Taxis cost about $20-25, or there are several Airport Bus routes, including the # 7 bus that goes directly to the west bank of the university campus.  Follow these links for more information about U of M Bus Routes and Airport Ground Transportation.
For visitors interested in overnight stays, the most convenient and reasonable accommodations are with the Radisson Hotel Metrodome, about 4 blocks away from the chemistry building, or the Minneapolis-Days Inn, about 6 blocks away.  For extended visits, the Wales House is a lovely, quaint, conveniently located bed and breakfast for University of Minnesota visitors - but demand is high, thus advanced reservations are advised.

Visitors interested in housing accommodations for 3 months or more, there is extensive information about Housing and Residential Life available, including on-campus and off-campus housing.
